Approximately ten years ago I went through the most devastating time of my life. My entire world had come to a crumbling heap of disappointment, discouragement and despair.
It was the absolute darkest time I’d ever known; it was my Midnight season. I had a shattered heart, dismembered emotions and was on the verge of suicide.
But somehow during my lowest of lows, I felt a comforting touch and heard the sweet, gentle voice of my Father, God. He whispered these words that became the very pulse of why I now exist, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
We all have midnight seasons when we think we’re not going to make it. But if I can just encourage you to hold on and speak words of life into your dark situation, you too will regain your strength. You too will become strong. You may shed tears that appear to have no end, but one day, the sun will shine again. There will be a breaking of dawn in your life.
You can make it! You will make it! The words of life are more powerful than the words of death. Your dark days can only hold you down for so long.
Weeping may endure for a (mid)night, but joy will surely come in the morning!
